Why Google is Funny
Google can be regarded as the best search engine in the world. It now has diverged its resources and produced various platforms to enhance communication, among which includes the famous Google+ and GMail.
On 1st April 2012, we have seen many new inventions by Google. People like me became really doubtful. As an early adopter, I am never afraid to try new technologies and platforms. I trust Google, so I am willing to download practically anything new.
Here’s a couple of things that Google has devised to celebrate this special day. I must say, they are really cunning to have done such things:
For each item, I have tested them out. I must say, their strategies are really awesome. A lot of thought must have been put in to create this prank.
Google Map 8-bit for NES
If you have not realized, the link I provided you is to a video they created. The first thing that struck me was how much it looked like Super Mario. Then, the video started making me laugh when the catridge had to be blown into because it didn’t work well. Remember those days?
So, I have tried the maps. Here is my findings:
When you click “Quest” on the top right hand corner on Google Maps, you will find this. In the video, the example used was Eiffel Tower but I didn’t want to search that. So, I am being patriotic and searched for “Singapore Flyer, Singapore”. Isn’t this cute?

This is really so much fun that I had to continue searching. So, I zoomed in and discovered two cute little things on the map:

Then when I dragged and dropped the person for live-view, I found a cute little warrior (:

So, now let’s take a look at Eiffel Tower. Notice how cute they made the Eiffel Tower?

Try them out before the end of April Fool’s Day!
This is by far the most obvious prank. Google deals with technology. They cannot change their line of work overnight into producing fiber bars. No joke here, but the actors in the video were really convincing!
Here’s a take at their website. When you click that you’re interested to make purchase for their fiber bar, here’s what appears on your screen:

Now, that’s just way too obvious. They had to make the prank obvious as well for fear of complaints from the public. You will be surprised at just how many people would really take out their wallets to stand-by their credit card details. (:
My first take at this was “are they for real?” I was really thinking that they were going to come up with something smart to make it easier for touch-screen mobile devices’ users. When I heard about Morse code, I was literally ROFL!
Here’s their smart way of pranking us:

Sounds convincing? Wait till you click “Retry”:

Aren’t they just hilarious? (:
They must really have a lot of (fun) time at work!
